Tonehammer Contest

This is a piece written for the first Tonehammer Contest.  The idea was to feature some of the Tonehammer libraries in the piece, and given the quality and uniqueness of their samples it isn’t very difficult to come up with ideas.  This features both the Forgotten Voices: Francesca and Whale Drum libraries. The aim wasn’t to create a memorable theme, but a memorable mood with a strong pulse that slowly builds.  The song hovers between two keys and uses 1/4 tones to add to the feel. Mumbai

This post is just to show my flexibility not only in genres but in collaborations.  A friend from India emailed me asking if I’d be able to help him with a track.  All he had were dry vocals but didn’t know where to take them. After talking for a few minutes he explained that he wanted an electronic/dance/techno song that still had an organic feel to it.  Needless to say, I didn’t really know what to do with it.  I sat on it for about an hour then just went to work.
