This post is just to show my flexibility not only in genres but in collaborations. A friend from India emailed me asking if I’d be able to help him with a track. All he had were dry vocals but didn’t know where to take them.
After talking for a few minutes he explained that he wanted an electronic/dance/techno song that still had an organic feel to it. Needless to say, I didn’t really know what to do with it. I sat on it for about an hour then just went to work.
The following track is an excerpt of what he sent me – just plane old dry vocals in a language that I don’t understand:

The first thing I did was clean up the vocals by giving them a little bit of ambience and EQ carving out the unwanted frequencies. Then it was on to the writing. After an hour or so this is what I came up with:
